Patriots linebacker Harvey Langi reportedly diagnosed with sprained MCL

New England Patriots linebacker Harvey Langi has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL and his timetable for return is uncertain, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Monday.

Langi had started Sunday at Gillette Stadium against the New York Jets in place of team captain Dont’a Hightower, who was inactive due to elbow and ankle injuries. The 29-year-old Brigham Young product would be downgraded to out with a knee injury after halftime in what became a 54-13 game.

Entering the NFL as part of New England’s 2017 undrafted class, Langi spent the past three seasons with New York before returning to Foxborough on a one-year deal in May.
