Patriots legend joins new NFL coaching staff to work with star QB

The Washington Commanders have a new assistant coach.

He's a New England Patriots legend, one of Tom Brady's favorite targets.

Wes Welker has joined Washington's staff as the new wide receivers coach, in charge of getting the wideouts there ready to shine on passes from young superstar Jayden Daniels.

Welker spent 12 seasons in the NFL, six with New England. he caught 672 passes with New England in those six years.

His coaching career has been spent with three years in San Francisco and three years with the Dolphins.
