There was plenty of buzz last week following the news that four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs was in Foxborough visiting with the New England Patriots.
The team had missed out on the top receiving options in free agency, and although a 31-year-old wideout coming off an ACL injury wasn't the first option, it was considered an easy pivot point for a team that desperately needed wideout help.
However, that excitement quickly died the moment it was revealed that Diggs left town with no new contract in hand.
Lead personnel executive Eliot Wolf commented on the meeting during the Patriots' annual NFL draft party.
