David Harris is walking away from the NFL.
The Patriots linebacker announced on Friday that he will retire after 11 seasons.
"After 11 years of having played the greatest team sport at its highest level, it's now time for me to announce my retirement from the NFL,” Harris said in a statement released by the agency that represents him, Sportstars.
Prior to the Super Bowl, Harris said he hoped to return for one more season, so he obviously changed his mind in recent weeks.
Harris, 34, moved from the Jets — where he played for 10 years — to the Patriots last year.
