The first 59 minutes and 53 seconds of the New England Patriots’ game against the Denver Broncos were rough for Chad Ryland. The rookie, who has been inconsistent for much of the season, missed two more of his kicking attempts on Sunday night.
First, he sent a 47-yard field goal try wide to the right. Later, one of his extra point attempts banged off the left upright. That one point in particular would have come in handy for the Patriots in the fourth quarter, but without it they found themselves in a 23-23 tie with seven ticks left in regulation of their Week 16 game in Denver.
