There has been plenty of talk about how Drake Maye wasn’t set up to succeed when he was brought in by the New England Patriots.
A similar case could be made for Jerod Mayo.
Mayo inherited arguably the NFL’s weakest roster when he took over as Patriots head coach back in January. The poor personnel group has translated into lousy results, as New England will enter Week 7 tied for the lowest win percentage in the entire league.
Appearing on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” after the Patriots’ fifth straight loss, Mayo was asked why the roster was in such bad shape going into the offseason.
