ESPN’s Mike Reiss believes the New England Patriots will be very active early on in free agency. He even went as far as referencing the 2021 splash offseason as a blueprint.
The 2021 free agency timeframe was a busy one for the Patriots. They signed a bevy of veteran players, such as Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Kendrick Bourne, Matthew Judon and Davon Godchaux, among others. In total, the Patriots spent over $160 million in guaranteed money, setting a record at the time for an offseason.
The team ended up going 10-7 that season, improving from a 7-9 record in 2020.
