Marcus Cannon’s return to the New England Patriots is on hold for the immediate future.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Patriots have placed the veteran offensive tackle on injured reserve. This comes after Cannon was already ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a concussion.
Cannon’s status was a point of mystery this week. The veteran participated in practice Wednesday, but was absent Thursday due to a concussion.
The Patriots brought the 34-year-old this season for his season stint in New England. Cannon was a long-time starter for the Patriots before being traded to the Houston Texans in 2021.
