FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots hosted free-agent wide receiver Eric Rogers for a workout at Gillette Stadium on Friday, dipping into the Canadian Football League ranks as they update emergency lists and consider options for 2016.
Rogers, a Division III star out of California Lutheran, had a standout season with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL in 2015. He totaled 87 receptions for 1,448 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He had initially attempted to enter the NFL in 2013 as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Rogers then landed in the Arena League before emerging in the CFL.
