Patriots have had remarkable stability at kicker position with Stephen Gostkowski

Since Adam Vinatieri arrived in Foxboro in 1996, the Patriots have had remarkable stability at placekicker. They’ve used just three kickers — the fewest in a league that has averaged 8.4 since then — with Stephen Gostkowski replacing Vinatieri in 2006 and Shayne Graham filling in for eight games in 2010.

Here is a break down of the number of kickers used by the league’s 32 teams since 1996:

3: Patriots

4: Baltimore, Green Bay, Indianapolis

5: St.Louis/Los Angeles Rams

6: Atlanta, Carolina, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston Texans, Seattle, Houston/Tennessee
