FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots starting guards Shaq Mason and Joe Thuney were the team's highest earners in the NFL's performance-based-pay system, which rewards those whose playing time far exceeds their salaries.
Mason ranked 14th overall in the NFL with his total of $314,837.80, while Thuney ranked 21st overall with $296,620.57.
That's a nice supplemental check considering that Mason's base salary for 2017 was $615,000, while Thuney's was $540,000.
