New England Patriots free agent defensive end Trey Flowers will reconnect with former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as Flowers is expected to sign a contract with the Detroit Lions, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
ESPN’s Field Yates reports that the contract will be for roughly $16-17 million per season, while Schefter adds that the deal will be for 5 years.
Trey Flowers was entering free agency coming off the best season of his four-year career. The former fourth-round draft pick was outstanding as a run defender in 2018 and also an impact player against the pass despite a comparatively low total number of sacks.
