The New England Patriots aren't in the market for a starting quarterback, but they are looking for a No. 3 option to back up Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs. So it's no surprise the team has done its homework on 2025 NFL draft prospect Shedeur Sanders.
Of course, with three rounds of the draft already in the rearview, no one expected Sanders would still be on the board. Patriots executive of player personnel Eliot Wolf commented on the draft controversy on Friday night.
"It's surprising. We evaluated him... It was interesting to see he was still available and I'm sure there's going to be a fit for him tomorrow," Wolf told media members.
