New England got next to nothing from its 2024 receiver picks in second-rounder Ja’Lynn Polk and fourth-rounder Javon Baker. Whether it’s making a splash in free agency or through trade, the Patriots need a proven commodity because multiple regimes in New England failed to develop receivers from the draft.

When assessing the wideout market in this year’s draft, Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf didn’t exactly sound thrilled about the talent at the top of draft boards for the critical position.
