Every week, the NFL Players Association names the league’s Community MVP, honoring charitable work and involvement off the field. This week, for the first time all season, a member of the New England Patriots was honored: defensive lineman Deatrich Wise Jr. has been announced as the NFLPA’s Community MVP for Week 6 after hosting a free block party at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Mattapan Teen Center on October 13.
“It’s an honor to receive the NFLPA Community MVP. I first thank the Most High God for giving me the opportunity daily to spread love and positivity,” said the 25-year-old about receiving the award.
