The reigning world champions keep losing assistant coaches: as was reported earlier today by the Boston Globe’s Jim McBride, New England Patriots defensive line coach Brendan Daly will leave the club to join the Kansas City Chiefs. According to the report, Daly will assume a similar role with the club that finished second in the AFC after being defeated at home by the Patriots in the conference title game.
Daly originally joined New England as a defensive assistant in 2014 before being promoted to coach the line one year later. He held the role ever since and was instrumental in turning the Patriots into one of the NFL’s best pass rushing teams over the course of the 2018 season: Daly helped develop the likes of Trey Flowers, Malcom Brown, Deatrich Wise Jr.
