On Monday, New England Patriots defensive backs Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty hosted their annual Tackle Sickle Cell Casino Night in Boston. The event, which was attended by more than 500 people including – for the first time – both of the McCourty brothers, raised over $200,000. The money will now benefit two New England organizations, the Boston Medical Center and the Next Step charity.
The McCourty twins’ community impact also was lauded by the NFL Players Association. As was announced yesterday, the NFLPA named Devin and Jason as its Community MVP’s for this week – the first time that two players received the honor.
