The New England Patriots' deal-'em-before-they-turn philosophy has sent defensive end Chandler Jones packing.
The Patriots dealt Jones, a Pro Bowler, to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for guard Jonathan Cooper and a second-round pick.
Jones recorded 12.5 sacks in 2015, a high for his four-year NFL career. However, he was also involved in a curious January incident in which he wandered, shirtless and disoriented, into the police station near his home.
Jones, age 26, is due $7.79 million in 2016 for the final year of his rookie contract, an option the Patriots picked up last year.
