For the Patriots, this offseason is like Groundhog Day.
Another start of free agency means the Patriots are again looking for a top-flight receiver. Unfortunately for them, No. 1 receivers don’t usually hit free agency. Once they do, you must pay them a handsome sum to come to your team.
Last year, the Patriots swung and missed with Calvin Ridley, who signed with Tennessee and finished with 64 receptions, 1,017 yards, and four touchdowns. The Patriots haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019.
Last year, the Patriots drafted two receivers (Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker) hoping to revive the depth chart.
