The Patriots have some work to do when it comes to their special teams unit.
Last season was marred by special teams mishaps. It came to a boiling point in the regular-season finale in Buffalo when Nyheim returned two kickoffs for two touchdowns. There were six kickoffs returned for scores last season and the Patriots allowed three of those.
The issue on kickoff returns was due to a bigger problem. After signing a new extension, punter Jake Bailey never looked right last season. He ultimately ended up on the injured reserve and then the Patriots suspended him for the final two games.
