The New England Patriots have a quarterback problem.
That became apparent on Thursday night as the offense faltered and failed in the Patriots’ 24-3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. On this night, Cam Newton’s group had more three-and-outs (four) than it had points. The quarterback finished 9-for-16 for 119 passing yards with a costly interception before being benched for Jarrett Stidham.
Although this marked the third game in a row where the passing game was largely inefficient, it doesn’t sound like Newton will lose his job. After the game, coach Bill Belichick said he wouldn’t bench Newton in favor of Stidham.
