New England Patriots cheerleader Morgan Dzicek will face a challenging test on Sunday night — singing the national anthem prior to the New England Patriots-Kansas City Chiefs game — but it’s nothing compared to what she’s already overcome.
Dzicek will be singing as a cancer survivor for the Patriots’ Crucial Catch game, part of an overall NFL effort to promote early cancer detection and risk reduction. Dzicek was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer when she was just 13 years old; a tumor was removed from behind her eye, and when the tumor grew back, Dzicek underwent 40 rounds of radiation treatment.
