The New England Patriots have been without one of their captains, safety Jabrill Peppers, for over a month, as he was placed on the NFL's commissioner exempt list on Oct. 9.
Peppers was arrested on Oct. 7 in Braintree after police responded to a disturbance for an alleged altercation. He was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B substance believed to be cocaine.
On Friday, Peppers appeared in Quincy District Court where he had a jury trial date set for Jan. 22.
The plaintiff in the case reportedly demanded $10.
