FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- When the New England Patriots were carrying just four wide receivers on their 53-man roster early last season, they viewed practice squad pass-catcher Devin Street as a valuable layer of depth. So there was disappointment when Street, who had been offered a pay increase as incentive to remain on the practice squad, signed on to the Indianapolis Colts' 53-man roster in late September.
Now the Patriots will have another chance to work with Street after claiming him on waivers from Indianapolis.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Street, who entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, brings experience and height to the position.
