Patriots bring back OT LaAdrian Waddle

At minimum, the Patriots have a short-term solution at left tackle.

They agreed to re-sign swing tackle LaAdrian Waddle on Thursday, according to a source. The free agent had been closing in on this deal over the past couple days after gauging interest around the league, a process that included a trip to meet with the Cowboys.

Waddle’s deal came together eight days after left tackle Nate Solder signed an historic four-year, $62 million contract with the Giants. In the aftermath of Solder’s departure, the Patriots remained in contact with both Waddle and fellow swing tackle Cameron Fleming, who is still a free agent.
