The New England Patriots entered the week with only 12 players on their practice squad. Now, they are reportedly using one of the four open spots to improve their tight end depth: according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, La’Michael Pettway is signing with the Patriots’ practice squad.
Pettway, 26, spent his college career at Arkansas and Iowa State. Going undrafted in 2020, he spent time in The Spring League before joining the Michigan Panthers of the USFL in 2022. He won a USFL Championship as a member the Birmingham Stallions the following season, catching 12 passes for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a combined 12 games.
