Patriots announce jersey numbers for newly-signed veterans

The New England Patriots have announced the jersey numbers for veteran players that joined the team this offseason.

No player will wear the No. 12 or 87, the former numbers of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, who are now teammates on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brian Hoyer signed with New England back in March and will go back to No. 2, which is what he wore during his last stint with the team.

Brandon Copeland will take Elandon Roberts’ old number, No. 52, and Adrian Phillips will take Duron Harmon’s old number, No.
