Marcus Jones made an impact on offense without ever touching the ball.
During Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Jones played two snaps on offense. On both occasions, he served as a decoy. The New England Patriots made it seem like they were getting the former All-Pro punt returner the ball in space. Instead, they flipped the ball elsewhere for a positive gain.
It was a successful wrinkle on previous packages where New England has trotted out the shifty defensive back for limited snaps for offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt.
