Patriots add veteran WR Nate Washington

The Patriots added veteran wide receiver Nate Washington to their roster yesterday.

Washington, 32, is an 11-year NFLer who played for Houston last season and caught 47 passes for 658 yards and four touchdowns.

His acquisition provides more depth to Tom Brady’s arsenal, which also added receiver Chris Hogan and tight end Martellus Bennett this offseason.

Washington joins a receiving corps that also includes Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Keshawn Martin, Aaron Dobson and Chris Harper.

Only four or five receivers will likely make the roster.

Coming from Bill O’Brien’s Texans offense, Washington will have some familiarity with the Pats system.
