FOXBORO -- The Patriots signed veteran defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois. He was on the practice field with the team today wearing No. 94.
The 30-year-old should provide some depth to a line that's now dealing with an injury to starter Malcom Brown (ankle). Jean-Francois started the year with the Packers, was cut, returned to the team later in September, before getting released last week.
He played in six games, registering two tackles with Green Bay. Jean-Francois has played for several other teams including Washington, Indianapolis and San Francisco. To make room for Jean-Francois, the Patriots officially placed Dont'a Hightower (torn pectoral) on season-ending injured reserve.
