The Patriots' strategy of acquiring all of the Rutgers players they can appears to be going well. New England added linebacker Quentin Gause to their practice squad Wednesday, a former Rutgers linebacker who was previously on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad.

Gause, 23, is 6-foot-0, 243 pounds and was signed as an undrafted free agent this year. He had 223 tackles and 27.5 tackles for loss in 51 games with Rutgers over his career — a career in which he earned 24 starts.
