The Patriots are signing kicker John Parker Romo to their practice squad after a trying season for Joey Slye, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday morning.
The Vikings waived Romo after activating rookie Will Reichard from injured reserve. Romo played from Weeks 10 to 13, during which he made 11 of 12 field goals and 7 of 8 extra points over four games.
It’s unclear what lies in store for Slye, who has made 22 of 28 field goals this season. Just before New England’s bye week, the veteran kicker missed a 25-yard field goal attempt against the Colts.
