The Patriots continue to add depth to their cornerback position, signing veteran Tarell Brown to a one-year deal a source confirmed today.
Brown, 30, is an eight-year veteran who has played 114 career games, starting 61 of them, and has 11 interceptions. He played his first seven seasons in San Francisco and contributed to some pretty good defenses from 2011-13. He played last season in Oakland, starting all 14 games without an interception. He finished the season on injured reserve with a foot injury.
Brown will likely compete for a backup spot in the secondary. He is among a number of newcomers, including Robert McClain and Bradley Fletcher.
