FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Tyquan Thornton could make his NFL debut on Sunday after the team activated him from injured reserve.
Thornton was drafted by the Patriots out of Baylor University with the 50th overall pick in the second round.
The 22-year-old caught three passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in the preseason before he suffered a collarbone fracture during New England's second of three preseason games.
By being placed on injured reserve, Thornton was required to miss the first four weeks of the season and the earliest he could return was Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
