It’s a new era in New England, again. Just one year after the Patriots promoted Jerod Mayo to head coach, they were already looking for his successor: Mayo was fired shortly after his team’s 4-13 season concluded, making him just the second head coach in franchise history to go one-and-done.
A week later, the Patriots announced their new head coach: Mike Vrabel, a former linebacker for the team who also spent six years as Tennessee’s HC, will return to Foxboro to take over the vacant position.
Replacing Mayo with Vrabel is just be the tip of the iceberg for the Patriots, though.
