With Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung and Duron Harmon as the centerpieces, the New England Patriots’ safety group played a key role in the team’s second dynastic run of the 2010s. Six years after the team’s last Super Bowl win, however, all three have moved on: McCourty and Chung retired in 2023 and 2021, respectively, while Harmon was traded in 2020.
While their memory is one of a more successful past for the Patriots, their successors in the safety room are no slouches either. In fact, as the team inches ever closer to its 2024 training camp, the group might be one of the best overall on the entire roster.
