The New England Patriots offseason plan of re-signing the majority of their own free agents after going 4-13 may be odd to some. But, the reality of the situation remains the team retained talented players who were not the main issue last season while remodeling more problematic areas of the roster.
That included a blowup of the quarterback position, which was the biggest reason for New England’s disastrous 2023 season. And the main portion of the remodel included using the No. 3 overall pick on Drake Maye, who comes to Foxboro as the hopeful franchise quarterback.
