While the New England Patriots’ 2020 training camp was already kicked almost three weeks ago, the focus early on was exclusively on learning as well as working on strength and conditioning. Today, however, the team finally held its first full-contact practice of the summer: players and coaches held a 90-minute session on the fields behind Gillette Stadium, all while trying to maintain social distancing guidelines and other Coronavirus-based safety measures.
The session itself took place in overcast and somewhat cool conditions, with the team wearing helmets and pads. Fans were not allowed in for safety reasons, but reporters were present.
