Packers safety Jermaine Whitehead ejected in second quarter vs. Patriots

FOXBOROUGH – Packers safety Jermaine Whitehead was ejected in the second quarter of the Patriots game Sunday night after he slapped center David Andrews after a play.

The slap, which came in the aftermath of a 10-yard run by Cordarrelle Patterson, mostly brushed Andrews in the face mask. It was clearly unnecessary though not particularly dangerous.

“In #GBvsNE, Jermaine Whitehead was ejected from the game for striking the head of an opponent. The ejection was confirmed by NY,’’ the NFL explained on its officiating Twitter account.
