Osweiler modest about Manning position

FOXBORO — In a way, Brock Osweiler sounded a lot like Peyton Manning yesterday when asked about being named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week following the Denver Broncos’ 17-15 win Sunday in Chicago against the Bears.

Humble, deflecting praise to his teammates, Osweiler actually seemed disappointed with what he didn’t do while playing in place of the injured Manning rather than happy with what he did accomplish.

“It’s just a compliment to the entire football team,” said Osweiler, who made his first start for the Broncos since being drafted in the second round (57th overall) of the 2012 draft.
