On Thursday afternoon, the first group of NFL hopefuls will enter the arena to go through their on-field workouts in Indianapolis. But while they are the most popular part of the Scouting Combine, they are not the most important for the New England Patriots.
As head coach Mike Vrabel explained earlier this week, he has not made the trip just to watch players go through drills.
“The drills haven’t changed in 30 years, so [it’s] the same drills,” Vrabel said. “I just want to talk to these guys and get to know them briefly, see how they act in this setting.
