The NFLPA filed a memorandum in opposition to the NFL's motion Friday, setting forth an argument that Roger Goodell violated the collective bargaining agreement by imposing a new standard of discipline on Tom Brady during arbitration.
In order for Judge Richard Berman to vacate Tom Brady's suspension, he must find that Goodell erred on at least one of four grounds. This particular argument, that Goodell exceeded his powers as arbitrator, seems to be convincing.
