The NFLPA, on Tom Brady's behalf, and NFL have until a Wednesday deadline to set the date for their appeal hearing over the quarterback's four-game suspension.
Contrary to an AP report, the two sides do not have to conduct the hearing by Wednesday, which will be 10 days after the NFLPA appealed Brady's punishment for his role in the Deflategate scandal. Again, the two sides merely have to set the hearing date by that Wednesday deadline.
The NFL suspended Brady four games, fined the Patriots $1 million and docked the team a first-round draft pick in 2016 and a fourth-rounder in 2017.
