Once Tom Brady filed his appeal with the NFLPA, an independent arbitrator had to be assigned, and to our moron commissioner, that evidently meant himself (you know, the same guy that approved the punishment).
The NFLPA requested that he recuse himself from hearing the appeal, given that he was not truly independent, and they wanted to call him as a witness as well. However it sounds like Goodell’s lawyers are advising him to reject this request, which means he will likely still hear the appeal.
Attorneys for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell have recommended that Goodell reject the NFLPA’s request that he recuse himself from hearing Tom Brady’s appeal of his four-game suspension.
