The New England Patriots reportedly hosted veteran defensive tackle Xavier Williams for a tryout on Wednesday.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots could be looking for depth options on the defensive line with DT Beau Allen absent from practice.
The Patriots hosted free-agent DT Xavier Williams on a tryout, and he is a candidate to fill one of the team's open roster spots. Beau Allen's absence from practice has sparked depth concerns at DT. Williams (6-2, 309) has played in 44 career games with the Cardinals and Chiefs.
Williams signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa in 2015.
