J.C. Jackson's tenure with the New England Patriots could be ending later this month.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the star cornerback is expected to hit free agency when the market opens Wednesday, March 16. The Patriots have until Tuesday to franchise tag Jackson, but based on Rapoport's reporting, it doesn't sound like New England is going that route.
This doesn't mean Jackson is definitely finished in New England. He could test the market and then come back to the Patriots and see if they're willing to match any offers from rival teams.
