In a statement released to Pro Football Talk, league spokesman Brian McCarthy said “the matter remains under review." It’s been over four months since the NFL obtained the footage.
The Patriots admitted the filming violated a rule, but were adamant that football operations weren’t involved. They said it was for a “Do Your Job” video focusing on a day in the life of an advance scout.
“The football team, the football staff, the coaching staff had nothing to do with happened,” Bill Belichick said. “Nothing. So, there was no involvement.”
With the NFL Draft nine days away, it’d behoove the league to make up its mind so any draft-pick penalties could be enforced.
