The NFL has postponed a second of its originally scheduled Week 4 games due to positive COVID-19 tests among players, though still plans to hold the New England Patriots-Kansas City Chiefs contest in the coming days.
With a player from each team testing positive – Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and Chiefs practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, according to multiple reports – New England and Kansas City will not meet Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium at 4:25 p.m. ET as originally scheduled. The league wants to stage the matchup Monday or Tuesday night.
“In consultation with infectious disease experts, both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA to evaluate multiple close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments,” read a statement distributed by the NFL on Saturday.
