Four-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady was slapped with a four-game suspension in the “Deflategate” scandal — and the Patriots were fined an unprecedented $1 million and lost two draft picks, including a first-rounder — in a fierce show of force by the controversial NFL office.
Brady’s suspension came as a result of “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the game of professional football,” according to an excerpt from a letter by NFL Vice President of Football Operation Troy Vincent. Brady is eligible to take part in all camps and preseason games until Week 1 of the season.
