One of the victims of the Coronavirus pandemic last year, the NFL Supplemental Draft will also not take place this year either. According to a report by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league has opted to cancel the event for a second straight year.
What is the supplemental draft, you might ask yourself?
The lesser publicized version of the”‘regular” draft usually takes place every year and serves as an additional opportunity for college players — typically those facing eligibility questions — to enter the league. That being said, the supplemental draft is noticeably different from the one taking place in late April both in terms of procedure and players being available.
